Gallery groove is an app for artists, curators, researchers and art lovers who want to curate their own collection of art.
We created this app based on a shared appreciation of art and a respect of art history. We noticed that image-based apps can often prioritise style over substance, and we resolved to deliver both with Gallery Groove. Gallery Groove is art app that showcases both aesthetics and details. an app that makes you the researcher and curator of your very own art gallery.
Utilising both Art Institute of Chicago API and IIIF Image API we created a sophisticated app that showcases high resolution images of works of art. The user can select favourites which are then displayed in the View page. These favourites can be rearranged on the page to the user’s preference. If the user requires more detailed information on each artwork, they can click the info icon and be let to the Details page, which displays information from the Chicago API.
