Venus in Virgo Pop-Up
Baker’s Arms
September 2019
Over the course of an eventful week, I had the pleasure of hosting a window gallery and pop-up shop at Arbeit Studios in the neighborhood of Baker's Arms. With a passion for spiritual arts and an innate love for connecting with the community, I eagerly offered tarot readings to the locals, providing them with fleeting glimpses into their destinies and guiding them along their unique paths. My shop was adorned with an array of treasures; spells, meticulously crafted and imbued with ancient wisdom, were showcased alongside candles and merch. Each item in the collection was carefully selected to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity, inviting visitors to dive into a world where magic seamlessly intertwines with reality.
However, the true pièce de résistance of my installation was undoubtedly the display of handmade felt animals. Each meticulously crafted creature found its place in an artful arrangement upon a checkered floor. Uniting whimsy and symbolism, the devil, Venus, a witch, and a mischievous fox held court, their presence invoking both intrigue and contemplation. This amalgamation of art, spirituality, and community engagement allowed for moments of introspection and connection, forging new paths of exploration and understanding. Through short tarot readings, the sale of enchanted treasures, and the presence of my felt animal ensemble, I aimed to ignite curiosity, awaken dormant dreams, and spark the eternal flame of wonder within every soul who crossed the threshold.
