RITUAL SOUND SUMMONING | NEW MOON | LUMEN CRYPT GALLERY, 2020

I was thrilled when I was selected to participate in the New Moon at Lumen Crypt Gallery event. It was a unique opportunity for me to showcase my sound work in a performative context, a departure from my previous presentations. On the first new moon of the decade approached, I performed my sonic ritual, a conduit for connecting with the energies of this celestial phenomenon. The room reverberated with echoes of the harmonious gong tones, creating a captivating ambiance that transported everyone to an ethereal realm.

I wanted to involve the audience, to make them active participants in this transformative experience. I had prepared a service, carefully crafted to resonate with the intentions and desires of each individual present. Inviting them to read from it and light candles at the altar, I encouraged them to focus their aspirations and dreams, channeling their energies towards what they wished to achieve or call into their lives.
It became clear to me that this combination of sound, ritual, and community had the power to create powerful shifts and transformations. It was a reminder of the potency and importance of coming together, of sharing our hopes and dreams, and supporting one another on this cosmic journey. As I reflected on this powerful experience, I couldn't help but wonder what other innovative ways I could explore to bring my art into the realm of performative expression.
